Peche cites as examples giants of the past such as Nokia, Netscape and Nortel "dominant in the world of technology and with great prospects" but which, bought at a time when it seemed that "they would dominate forever, led to huge losses of money". Moreover, according to Ranmore's manager, "many of Nvidia's large customers are looking to develop their own artificial intelligence chips, and many of these companies have higher research and development budgets than Nvidia's. Cisco – concludes Peche – has never had customers trying to compete".
