The benefits of artificial intelligence, like artificial colours and sweeteners, might be subject to different views. Hence, it may not be a surprise that proposals from the UK government for reducing the scope of human intervention in AI decisions have led to concerns this may cause a loss of data equivalence previously agreed with the EU. For providers of collective investments it throws up a potential additional 'known unknown' with regards to exporting products from the single market into the UK, even if the authorisation path is meant to have been smoothed through the OFR.
